ETHICAL LABOR

We believe in upholding the highest standards of ethical labor and
doing right by the people who manufacture our bags.

what we stand for

We believe in a world that treats workers with fairness. That's why we say no to child labor, gender-based discriminatory practices, unsafe working conditions, and inability to unionize. Forever and always.

When we extensively vet our factory partners, we look for the following certifications:

That’s a lot of industry jargon. So we’ll break it down for you.

Our manufacturer is BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certifiedSA 8000-certified, and ISO 9001-certified.

SA 8000 is the social accountability certification, which addresses issues including forced and child labor, occupational health and safety, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, compensation, and management systems. It is issued by SGS, the internationally-recognized and leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification for factories and companies. It may take up to several years of rigorous inspection for factories to earn this certification.

ISO 9001
is a certification that ensures that products meet strict quality assurance standards. It is also issued by SGS, the internationally-recognized and leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification for factories and companies. It may take up to several years of rigorous inspection for factories to earn this certification.

Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is an internationally recognized standard for ethical business practices within supply chains and conduct.

What this all means is that we care deeply about the health and safety conditions in the factories we work with, as well equal pay and anti-discrimination practices. We have high standards and rest assured, we only work with factories that meet our values. :)
